FlexShade ZIP XL offers wide outdoor shading with cradle support, ZIP fabric retention, and protection from heat, glare, wind, rain, and insects.

The FlexShade ZIP XL provides wide span outdoor shading with secure ZIP retention to help homeowners block heat, glare, wind, rain, and insects across larger exterior openings. Its integrated cradle support system limits deflection at greater widths, improving stability and fabric tension. The ZIP retention system locks the fabric into the side channel for smoother operation and stronger wind performance. As an exterior window shading solution, it stops solar heat before it enters the home, supporting better energy efficiency and enhancing comfort in outdoor living areas.

FlexShade Zip Exterior Motorized Roller Shades - Part 2: Cassette Mounting

To Mount the headbox on a Wall or ceiling using cassette brackets, simply attach the cassette brackets to the mounting surface using #10 flat head screws. It is the installer’s responsibility to choose the length of #10 flat head screw appropriate for the mounting surface. The mounting brackets must be installed level with each other. Be sure to drive the screws in flush with bracket.

FlexShade Zip Exterior Motorized Roller Shades - Part 2B: Direct Mount Instructions

To mount the headbox permanently, you will first need to attach the mounting brackets to the headbox as a spacer between the headbox and the wall. Be sure to leave a 1¾" (45mm) gap between the end cap and mounting bracket.

This video will cover methods for installing side channels. For instructions on preparing your site for proper product installation and mounting of the FlexShade Zip Motorized Shade headbox, please see the previous instructional videos in this series. These instructions do not apply for installations using the ZIP 127 angled headbox.

FlexShade Zip Exterior Motorized Roller Shades - Part 4: Limit Setting

To begin programming with your remote, first connect power to one motor. Select a transmitter channel to assign that particular motor unit. Hold the UP and DOWN buttons until the motor jogs, and then release. Note the motor direction. To reverse the direction, hold the MY/STOP button for 5 seconds until the motor jogs. Failure to complete this step can only be corrected with a motor reset.
